Two Baldwin Park Police Department officers were assaulted during an altercation Thursday at a motel.
On Tuesday, September 16, 2021, at approximately 6:55 pm, the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to the Grand Park Inn, located near the 13900 Block of Francisquito Avenue to a call about a reported Battery Investigation, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
As officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department attempted to detain the suspect, the suspect began fighting with officers, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Two officers were injured during the altercation and are expected to recover, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
One Baldwin Park Police Department Officer was transported to a hospital with minor injuries according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The suspect was also provided medical attention on the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The suspect was arrested for attempted murder and assault on a Police Officer according to the Baldwin Park Police Department. He was also additionally booked for elder abuse and criminal threats in connection with the Battery Investigation, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
The suspect’s identity and age were withheld by the Baldwin Park Police Department.
