A Juvenile was arrested for attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting that injured a teen outside Sierra Vista Middle School in late October.
On October 29, 2021, the Baldwin Park Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a reported gunshot wound victim in the 13400 block of Foster Avenue, at approximately 3:15 p.m., in the City of Baldwin Park.
The incident took place on the sidewalk just across from Sierra Vista Middle School’s main entrance.
The Female was transported to a local hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
According to the Baldwin Park Police Department’s preliminary investigation, the victim and two other juveniles were fired at by a male subject on a bicycle. The female victim had a gunshot wound to her left heel as a result of the incident.
Officers were unable to find the suspect at the time of the investigation. Five expended casings were discovered during an investigation of the area, indicating that a shooting had occurred.
On December 11, 2021, a carjacking took place in the 13800 Block of Masline Street in the City of Baldwin Park. Officers conducted the investigation and entered the vehicle’s license plate as a felony vehicle.
Monterey Park Police Department recovered the stolen car the next day, December 12, 2021, and arrested the driver, who was the same suspect in the shooting.
Baldwin Park Police Gang Activity Prevention did more investigation, which led to the identification of the suspect, who is an active member of a criminal street gang and the primary suspect in the shooting.
The suspect was charged with attempted murder and other crimes by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on December 17, 2021.
Because the suspect is a minor, his information is being withheld.
