Short police pursuit in Baldwin Park Sunday night ended when a suspect’s vehicle crashed into a fence.
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 9:17 p.m., officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to reports of a reckless driver near the area of Merced Avenue and Los Angeles Street in the city.
Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver failed to comply, prompting a short pursuit through local streets.
Its chase concluded when the driver lost control and collided with a fence in the 4600 block of Walnut Street.
Following the crash, officers determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
Its driver was taken into custody and arrested for felony evading and grand theft auto, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
No injuries were reported either from the crash itself or during the arrest.
