Federal immigration agents carried out an enforcement operation in Baldwin Park on Monday morning, targeting a local car wash and marking the sixth known federal immigration operation in the city since June 2025.
Video obtained by Baldwin Park News shows U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents leaving the Baldwin Park Car Wash following the operation.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., federal immigration agents arrived at the Baldwin Park Car Wash, located in the 4200 block of Sterling Way.
Agents arrived in an unmarked vehicle displaying California license plates on the rear only, with no front license plate visible.
Monday’s operation marks the first federal immigration enforcement action in Baldwin Park in 2026, continuing a pattern of repeated operations that have occurred across the city over the past several months.
According to employees at the Baldwin Park Car Wash, one individual was removed from the location during Monday’s operation.
No additional details regarding the individual or the circumstances surrounding the removal were immediately available.
Baldwin Park Car Wash has been the site of multiple federal immigration enforcement operations in recent months.
In December 2025, federal agents were observed conducting operations at both the Baldwin Park Home Depot and Target, locations that had also been targeted during earlier enforcement operations.
In October 2025, agents returned to the Baldwin Park Home Depot before expanding operations to nearby businesses, including Coffee Express Donuts, Target, and the Baldwin Park Car Wash.
Earlier, in September 2025, federal agents conducted a morning operation at the Home Depot, arriving in a white van and several unmarked vehicles.
In late June 2025, during the city’s second known enforcement operation, pedestrians were briefly detained for questioning in high-traffic areas before agents returned to their vehicles.
That same vehicle was later observed at the Baldwin Park Car Wash, where four Border Patrol agents were seen speaking with employees.
During the first operation in early June 2025, federal agents reportedly focused on day laborers and pedestrians in several high-traffic locations throughout the city, including areas near the Baldwin Park Home Depot.
Following the series of operations, the City of Baldwin Park distributed multilingual informational displays in both English and Spanish at city bus stations to provide residents with guidance and resources.
On Monday morning, the City of Baldwin Park issued a statement confirming reports that federal immigration agents were present at multiple locations throughout the city on January 19, 2026.
According to the statement, the City said it did not receive advance notice of the federal action and was not involved in its planning or execution.
“We want to make it clear: Baldwin Park supports its citizens,” the statement read.
“Our City remains unwavering in its commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of every member of our community, regardless of immigration status,” the City added.
Its statement emphasized that Baldwin Park is a community built by generations of hardworking families, noting that every resident has the right to feel protected, respected, informed, and supported.
“Baldwin Park has always been shaped and strengthened by immigrant families whose contributions are essential to who we are today,” said Mayor Daniel Damian. “While the City does not control or direct federal immigration actions, we are fully committed to transparency, to safeguarding constitutional rights, and to ensuring our residents know that their City stands with them.”
Its City’s also stressed that neither the City of Baldwin Park nor the Baldwin Park Police Department participated in federal immigration enforcement activities.
According to the statement, Baldwin Park does not house ICE detainees and does not operate in coordination with federal immigration agencies.
Consistent with California law, the Baldwin Park Police Department’s mission remains focused on public safety, community trust, and service—not immigration enforcement.
“We will lead with compassion, unity, and courage. Baldwin Park is a resilient, inclusive city, and we will continue to stand together, support one another, and affirm, without hesitation, that every resident belongs here.” Mayor Damian added.

“Baldwin Park siempre ha sido moldeado y fortalecido por familias inmigrantes cuyas contribuciones son esenciales para quienes somos hoy”, dijo el alcalde Daniel Damian. “Si bien la Ciudad no controla ni dirige las acciones federales de inmigración, estamos totalmente comprometidos con la transparencia, con salvaguardar los derechos constitucionales y con garantizar que nuestros residentes sepan que su Ciudad los apoya.”
Su Ciudad también enfatizó que ni la Ciudad de Baldwin Park ni el Departamento de Policía de Baldwin Park participaron en actividades federales de cumplimiento de la ley de inmigración.
Según el comunicado, Baldwin Park no se casa a los detenidos de ICE y no funciona en coordinación con agencias federales de inmigración.
