Driver Arrested After Traffic Stop in Baldwin Park Leads to Discovery of Ghost Gun

A routine traffic stop in Baldwin Park earlier this month resulted in the discovery of a ghost gun, leading to the arrest of a driver.

On the afternoon of April 2, 2025, officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Merced Avenue and Los Angeles Street after observing a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations.

Upon pulling the vehicle over, the officers determined that the driver was unlicensed, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.

During the traffic stop, officers conducted a pat-down of the driver and discovered a ghost gun—an unregistered firearm without a serial number.

Ghost guns, which are often assembled from parts or 3D-printed, are difficult to trace, making them increasingly dangerous.

Following the discovery of the weapon, the driver was immediately arrested, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.

Baldwin Park Police Department Officers confiscated the ghost gun, and the driver was transported to the Baldwin Park Police Department, where he was later booked.

He was booked on charges related to possessing a handgun without a serial number, possessing a firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
