Driver was arrested Tuesday night in Baldwin Park after fleeing the scene of a traffic collision and was later suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
At approximately 7:21 p.m., the Baldwin Park Police Department officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a reported two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Dalewood Street and Puente Avenue.
As Baldwin Park Police Department officers arrived on scene, they discovered that one of the drivers had abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene on foot, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Search of the surrounding area was conducted, and the suspect was located approximately a mile away in the 14000 block of Dalewood Street in the City of Baldwin Park.
Its other driver involved in the crash suffered minor injuries, complaining of pain, and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
As the investigation unfolded, Baldwin Park Police Department officers determined that the suspect who fled was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol, resulting in injury.
Its case remains under investigation.
