Runners of all ages will lace up their shoes as Baldwin Park celebrates the 30th Annual Pride of the Valley 5K—and this year, for the first time, a 10K option is hitting the streets.
Its race is set for Saturday, August 2, 2025 starting at Morgan Park, located in the 4100 block of Baldwin Park Boulevard.
Its milestone year expands on the legacy of the event, offering four race options: the Pride of the Valley 5K, the first-ever Pride of the Valley 10K, the half-mile Tike Trot for young children, and a Virtual 5K option for those who prefer to run remotely.
“The Pride of the Valley is undoubtedly one of the most exciting summer events in Baldwin Park,” said Baldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila. “Now in its 30th year, this race promotes healthy habits for community members of all ages while bringing out the best in Baldwin Park’s competitive spirit. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking to set a personal best or a family wanting to enjoy a fun morning out, this event is for you.”
Over the past three decades, the event has attracted elite talent from across the nation.
Olympians, American record holders, NCAA champions, nationally ranked high school teams, and dedicated coaches have all competed on its fast, local course.
Its race’s record list reads like a “who’s who” of competitive running, offering today’s participants the rare chance to compare their performances to some of the sport’s greatest athletes.
Baldwin Park’s Annual Pride of the Valley kicks off at approximately 7:30 a.m. with the Tike Trot, open to children 8 years old and younger.
Its Annual Pride of the Valley 5K and new 10K races will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m., starting and finishing at Morgan Park.
Runners will head north on Baldwin Park Boulevard and wind through city streets before returning to the finish line.
Participants will receive real-time chip timing and mile splits, and all finishers will be awarded a custom medal and a free In-N-Out burger voucher.
In-N-Out Burger was founded in Baldwin Park in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder.
Online registration is now open and will close at approximately 8:00 a.m. on race day. On-site registration will also be available.
Entry fees are $32.80 for the 5K (both in-person and virtual), $40.22 for the 10K, and $22.20 for the Tike Trot.
Its USA Track & Field (USATF)-sanctioned race will end with an awards ceremony.
Top male and female finishers will each receive $200 cash, with an additional $500 bonus for breaking the course record (14:00 for men, 16:03 for women).
Tike Trot participants will be divided into three age divisions, with medals for the top three finishers in each. All kids will receive a commemorative medal.
Drivers in the area should expect temporary road closures and traffic delays along the race route throughout the morning and immediately before and after the event.
