On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at approximately 12:30 pm. Officers were dispatched to assist a woman, slumped over on the steering wheel in her car parked near the 14200 Block of Havenbrook Street in a residential neighborhood.
During their investigation officers discovered a small container with narcotics inside. When the container was opened by one of the officers, he immediately became light-headed and dizzy.
The woman told officers the narcotics were methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl. Paramedics were called to treat the officer, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for narcotic exposure.
He was treated and later released to go home and returned to work today according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Due to COVID-19, the woman was booked for possession of controlled substances. She was issued a citation and immediately released with a court date in the near future the Baldwin Park Police Department announced.
