A street race-related incident resulted in minor injuries to the driver and passenger of a vehicle on Wednesday in the City of Baldwin Park.
Baldwin Park Police and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded at approximately 1:50 p.m. to the 14900 Block of Arrow Highway in the City of Baldwin Park to a reported Traffic Collision.
It was determined during their investigation that two vehicles were involved in street racing when one of them lost control, hit an electricity pole, and brought it down, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting a tree next to the electricity pole.
The driver and passenger were both taken to LAC + USC Medical Center, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
They sustained minor injuries, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Crews from Southern California Edison were still working on the pole as of Thursday. There are delays in traffic since just one lane is currently open. The Irwindale Police Department estimates that the work will continue far into the evening.
According to the Baldwin Park Police Department, the investigation was still ongoing.
