Man was discovered dead inside a Baldwin Park home Friday afternoon after relatives had been unable to reach him for several days, Baldwin Park News learned.
At approximately 2:16 p.m. Friday, Baldwin Park Police Department officers responded to a residence near the intersection of Main Avenue and Merced Avenue after the man’s relatives requested a welfare check.
Relatives contacted the department’s Dispatch Communication Center after becoming concerned because they had been unable to reach the man for approximately five to six days, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
It was unusual for the man’s relatives not to hear from him for that length of time, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
Officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department arrived at the residence and located an unresponsive adult male inside the residence.
He was described as being in his 50s, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
At approximately 3:02 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the residence.
By approximately 3:27 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Baldwin Park Police Department Detective Bureau personnel and detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau responded to the residence as part of the investigation.
Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner also responded to the residence to assist with the investigation.
Circumstances surrounding the man’s death remained under investigation, and the official cause and manner had not been determined at the scene.
A determination is pending further examination and the findings of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
As of Saturday afternoon, the man had not been identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner is expected to determine the man’s identity and establish the official cause and manner of death.
Its investigation remained ongoing and was being handled by the Baldwin Park Police Department.
