The City of Baldwin Park is now accepting applications to serve on the City’s various Commissions. To qualify, you must be a Baldwin Park resident and meet the age requirements for certain seats.
Commission members shall be residents of the City of Baldwin Park at the time of appointment and at all times during their term in office. Commission members will receive a stipend of $50 per meeting for attendance. Members will not receive a stipend for missed meetings.
Commission members shall not hold public office as an elected official at the time of their appointment or at any other time during their term. Each member of the commission shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council.
There are various Commissions such as the Planning Commission, Recreation & Community Services Commission, Personnel Commission, and the Housing Commission.
Planning Commission
The Planning Commission of this City consists of a total of five members. Each member of the Planning Commission serves a two-year term. Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. City Planning Commissioners perform the duties required by applicable state law and such other duties as may be ordered by the City Council.
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm, at the Baldwin Park Council Chambers.

Commission members will receive a stipend of $50 per meeting for attendance. Members will not receive a stipend for missed meetings.

Recreation & Community Services Commission
The Recreation and Community Services Commission of the city consists of seven members, five of who are designated and appointed to Commission and serve a two-year term respectively.
Three members are Student Commission Representatives, serve a one-year term and are designated to Commission Office, and shall be over the age of 16 years, and less than 19 years of age during their terms of office.
One member shall be a student at Baldwin Park High School, the other member shall be a student at Sierra Vista High School, and one member shall be a student at North Park High School at the time of their respective appointments. No person shall be appointed to office number six through eight unless the principal of his/her high school has certified his/her eligibility for the appointment.
Certification shall only be made after an appropriate selection process has been observed, involving as a part thereof, the wishes of the student body of each high school as to appropriate candidates.
Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of the Month at 5:10 pm, at the Baldwin Park Council Chambers.

Personnel Commission
The Personnel Commission of the city shall consist of five members. The term of office for members of the Personnel Commission is for a period of two years. Commission members are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The Personnel Commission performs the following duties, hear disciplinary actions as set forth in the city’s personnel rules and such other duties as the Council shall, from time to time, require.
The appointees to the Personnel Commission shall be residents of the City of Baldwin Park at the time of appointment and at all times during their term in office. Commission members will receive a stipend of $50 per meeting for attendance. Members will not receive a stipend for missed meetings.
Additionally, Commission members shall not hold public office as an elected official at the time of their appointment or at any other time during their term. Each member of a Personnel Commission serves at the pleasure of the City Council.
Meetings on an as-needed basis at a location to be determined.
Housing Commission
The Housing Commission consists of seven members who are appointed and designated to Commission Office. Commissioners six and seven shall be persons who are tenants of the authority. Commissioner appointed to Office number seven shall be over 62 years of age if the authority has tenants of such age.
Tenant Commissioners shall have all the powers, duties, and privileges as any other Commissioner. Commission members of Office one through five are appointed to a four-year term. Commission members of Office six and seven are appointed to a two-year term.
The appointees to the Housing Commission must be residents of the City of Baldwin Park at the time of appointment and at all times during their term in office. Commission members will receive a stipend of $50 per meeting for attendance. Members will not receive a stipend for missed meetings.

Comisión de Planificación

Comisión de Recreación y Servicios Comunitarios
La Comisión de Recreación y Servicios Comunitarios de la ciudad se compone de siete miembros, cinco de los cuales son designados y nombrados para comisionar y servir por un período de dos años, respectivamente.
Tres miembros son Representantes de la Comisión de Estudiantes, sirven por un período de un año y son designados para el cargo de la Comisión, y deben ser mayores de 16 años, y menos de 19 años de edad durante su mandato.
Un miembro será un estudiante de Baldwin Park High School, el otro miembro será un estudiante de Sierra Vista High School, y un miembro será un estudiante de North Park High School en el momento de sus respectivas citas. Ninguna persona será designada para el cargo número seis al ocho a menos que el director de su escuela secundaria haya certificado su elegibilidad para el nombramiento.

Comisión de Personal
La Comisión de Personal de la ciudad estará integrada por cinco miembros. El mandato de los miembros de la Comisión de Personal es de dos años. Los miembros de la Comisión son nombrados por el Alcalde con el asesoramiento y el consentimiento del Ayuntamiento. La Comisión de Personal realiza los siguientes deberes, escucha las acciones disciplinarias establecidas en las reglas de personal de la ciudad y otros deberes que el Consejo, de vez en cuando, requiera.
Los designados a la Comisión de Personal serán residentes de la Ciudad de Baldwin Park en el momento del nombramiento y en todo momento durante su término en el cargo. Los miembros de la Comisión recibirán un estipendio de $50 por reunión por asistencia. Los miembros no recibirán un estipendio por reuniones perdidas.
Además, los miembros de la Comisión no podrá ejercer cargo público como un funcionario electo en el momento de su designación o en cualquier otro momento durante su mandato. Cada miembro de una Comisión de Personal sirve a placer del Ayuntamiento.

Comisión de Vivienda
La Comisión de Vivienda está integrada por siete miembros que son nombrados y designados para ocupar cargos en la Comisión. Los comisionados seis y siete serán personas que sean arrendatarios de la autoridad. El Comisionado nombrado para el cargo número siete tendrá más de 62 años de edad si la autoridad tiene inquilinos de esa edad.
Los Comisionados Arrendatarios tendrán todos los poderes, deberes y privilegios como cualquier otro Comisionado. Los miembros de la Comisión del uno al cinco son nombrados por un período de cuatro años. Los miembros de la Comisión de seis y siete cargos son nombrados por un período de dos años.
Las personas designadas para la Comisión de Vivienda deben ser residentes de la Ciudad de Baldwin Park en el momento de la designación y en todo momento durante su término en el cargo. Los miembros de la Comisión no podrán ocupar cargos públicos como funcionario electo en el momento de su nombramiento ni en ningún otro momento durante su mandato. Cada miembro sirve a placer del Ayuntamiento.
