A man was captured by police after he fell through an aluminum roof on Tuesday night, near the 3900 Block of La Rica Avenue in the City of Baldwin Park.
On Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at approximately 9:30 pm, Dispatch received a 911 call of a male described as having a shaved head and no shirt, hitting a nearby apartment complex with a bat.
Shortly after, Dispatch received a second 911 call from a resident reporting a male in their backyard while officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to the location.
Officers made contact with the adult man as soon as they arrived, with help from the Irwindale Police Department, but he refused to follow orders.
As officers attempted to give commands to the male he started getting erratic with his body movements, including being Schizophrenia in nature, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Because the male refused to obey instructions, he ran to a neighboring attached garage and began removing roof tiles and throwing them at officers, as well as finding a metal pole nearby and swinging it at the officers, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Prompting the Baldwin Park Police Department to establish a containment zone in the area.
