The Baldwin Park Unified School District and the City of Baldwin Park hosted their First Mental Health Awareness last month on August 7, 2021.
The event was to raise mental health awareness.
The event started at the Baldwin Park City Hall and finished at the Baldwin Park Unified School District Performing Arts Center in the City of Baldwin Park.
The event included a 1-mile walk/bike/run, a car show hosted by Pride Car Club with 100-plus vehicles, informational booths on different topics, and food.
Baldwin Park’s Mayor Emmanuel J. Estrada told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune in a statement, “Awareness of mental health resources is fundamental to the overall health and well-being of our community,” Mayor Emmanuel J. Estrada said in a statement. “We need to destigmatize mental health and gain understanding on invisible health issues.
“This is an issue that was exacerbated by the pandemic and as a city, we must address the wellbeing of our residents.”
The Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 29 also participated in the Mental Health Awareness Event, raising their flag from their quint at the opening ceremony at the Baldwin Park City Hall.
Mayor Emmanuel J. Estrada, Mayor Pro-Tem Alejandra Avila, Councilmember Paul C. Hernandez, and Councilmember Daniel Damian, Chief Executive Officer Enrique C. Zaldivar P.E., and Baldwin Park Police Department Cheif of Police Robert Lopez attended the ceremony and event.
The ceremony and event were also attended by members of the Baldwin Park Unified School District’s Board of Education, including Board President Christina Lucero, Board Member Santos Hernandez, Jr., Board Member Diana E. Miranda-Dzib, and others.
The City of Baldwin Park also presented the City’s local American Legion, Abraham Lincoln Post 241 a $100,000.00 Grant to help them rehab their facility and continue providing veterans a place to enjoy.

El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Baldwin Park y la Ciudad de Baldwin Park organizaron su Primera Concientización sobre Salud Mental el mes pasado, el 7 de agosto de 2021.
El evento comenzó en el Ayuntamiento de Baldwin Park y terminó en el Centro de Artes Escénicas del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Baldwin Park en la ciudad de Baldwin Park.
El evento incluyó una caminata/bicicleta/carrera de 1 milla, un show de autos organizado por Pride Car Club con más de 100 vehículos, cabinas informativas sobre diferentes temas y comida.
El alcalde de Baldwin Park, Emmanuel J. Estrada, dijo al San Gabriel Valley Tribune en un comunicado: “El conocimiento de los recursos de salud mental es fundamental para la salud general y el bienestar de nuestra comunidad”, dijo el alcalde Emmanuel J. Estrada en un comunicado. “Necesitamos desestigmatizar la salud mental y comprender los problemas de salud invisibles.
“Este es un problema que se vio exacerbado por la pandemia y, como ciudad, debemos abordar el bienestar de nuestros residentes.”
La Estación 29 del Departamento de Bomberos del Condado de Los Ángeles también participó en el Evento de Concientización sobre Salud Mental, levantando su bandera de su quint en la ceremonia de apertura en el Ayuntamiento de Baldwin Park.
El Alcalde Emmanuel J. Estrada, la Alcaldesa Pro-Tem Alejandra Avila, el Concejal Paul C. Hernández, y el concejal Daniel Damian, el Director Ejecutivo Enrique C. Zaldivar P. E., y el Departamento de Policía de Baldwin Park Cheif de Policía Robert López asistieron a la ceremonia y evento.
A la ceremonia y al evento también asistieron miembros de la Junta de Educación del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Baldwin Park, incluyendo la Presidenta de la Junta Christina Lucero, el Miembro de la Junta Santos Hernández, Jr., la Miembro de la Junta Diana E. Miranda-Dzib, y otros.
La Ciudad de Baldwin Park también presentó a la Legión Americana local de la Ciudad, Abraham Lincoln Post 241, una subvención de $100,000.00 para ayudarlos a rehabilitar sus instalaciones y continuar brindando a los veteranos un lugar para disfrutar.
