Two separate shootings in Baldwin Park left at least one person injured Sunday Night.
Baldwin Park Police Department and the California Highway Patrol’s Baldwin Park Area Office are investigating two distinct incidents that occurred around the same time.
One shooting occurred on a Baldwin Park Freeway, while another occurred near a Baldwin Park Residence.
The first shooting occurred at approximately 9:18 p.m. on the northbound I-605 freeway at Ramona Boulevard in the City of Baldwin Park.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from the Baldwin Park Area Office responded to a call reporting a “shots fired” incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered numerous bullet casings on the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated that the gunfire originated from the front passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle in the number two lane of the northbound I-605 near Ramona Boulevard.
No individuals were struck or injured during this incident, the California Highway Patrol told Baldwin Park News.
Simultaneously, a call of a gunshot victim located at a residence was reported near Frazier Street and Amar Road, close to the location of the freeway shooting.
Baldwin Park Police Department is investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting and whether they are in relation to the freeway shooting.
During the second shooting, an adult male sustained a gunshot wound and was discovered at Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
He was later transferred to LAC+USC Medical Center at approximately 9:33 p.m.
No description of the suspect is currently available, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
