On Monday, May 17, 2021, at approximately 4:30 am, a Baldwin Park Police Department officer was on patrol when one of the officers observed unusual activity involving a vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle to further investigate the activity.
During the investigation, it was revealed that three suspects were engaged in the thefts of catalytic converters.
The victim of the crime had their catalytic converter engraved recently as part of the Baldwin Park Police Department’s ETCH & CATCH Event that was held on April 15, 2021, which helped recognize them as property crime victims.
Arturo Guijarro (46) Arturo Lealaldana (38), and Norma Navarette (39) were all apprehended and charged with grand theft and conspiracy charges. All three suspects were from Los Angeles.
