The City of Baldwin Park did pass the 2020-2021 Proposed budget early Thursday morning but they will continue to review the Police Department’s budget.
If the Budget did not pass major cuts would have been needed for the deficit according to officials.
The budget was passed shortly after 1:00 am. The City council had a meeting that went for 6 hours with 254 public comments regarding the Police Department, which were sent to City Council.
The budget passed with a 3 yes & a 1 No vote.
The City also made it Official that the Police Department will not use the chokehold method according to the Meeting.
In the meeting, the Mayor said that the Sheriff’s Department it’s not coming to City after rumors. The Virtual Public Hearing ended at 1:30 am.

Si el presupuesto no aprobara grandes recortes habrían sido necesarios para el déficit según los funcionarios.
El presupuesto se aprobó poco después de la 1:00 am. El Ayuntamiento tuvo una reunión que duró 6 horas con 254 comentarios públicos sobre el Departamento de Policía, que fueron enviados al Ayuntamiento.
El presupuesto aprobado con un 3 sí y un 1 No voto.
La Ciudad también hizo Oficial que el Departamento de Policía no utilizará el método chokehold de acuerdo con la Reunión.
En la reunión, el alcalde dijo que el Departamento del Sheriff no vendrá a la ciudad después de los rumores. La Audiencia Pública Virtual terminó a la 1:30 am.
