A Juvenile was fatally struck by a Metrolink Train Friday Afternoon in the City of Baldwin Park.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. Officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the intersection of Downing Avenue and Pacific Avenue to a reported Traffic Collision.
9-1-1 calls were received reporting a male walking on the railroad tracks, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department arrived and discovered a person on the train tracks, the Baldwin Park Police Department told Baldwin Park News.
The male suffered severe wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
He was identified Saturday Morning as 16-year-old Diego Pena Gonzalez, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
Railroads in the area were blocked while an investigation was carried out. The incident impacted Train 322 moving Southbound.
At approximately 10:25 p.m., all tracks were reopened following the incident.
East and West Traffic on Pacific Avenue from Maine Avenue to Puente Avenue were also blocked in the area.
Baldwin Park Police Department is investigating the incident with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
