At approximately 8:08 am, the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center located at 1011 Baldwin Park Boulevard regarding a shooting investigation between two adult males.
Both subjects fled the scene before the officer’s arrival according to police. Based on witness statements, the shooting occurred in the front patient drop-off parking lot of the facility.
It was reported that one of the males shot at a second adult male multiple times with an unknown caliber firearm wounding him at least once. The second male returned fire with an unknown caliber firearm.
It is unknown if the first male was wounded as a result of the shooting. The second male transported himself to a different hospital. He has been identified, but his identity is not being released due to the ongoing investigation.
The shooting prompted a lockdown of the hospital facility during the investigation. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 10:00 am once the area was deemed safe.
The first subject remains at large and is described as a male Hispanic in his 30’s, approximately 5’7”, 220 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray shorts. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Baldwin Park Police Detectives would like to talk to anyone with information regarding this crime.

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center released a statement Wednesday morning “Our patients and staff are safe. No dangerous activity in the hospital. We are cooperating with local law enforcement”.
