Today, Baldwin Park News is honoring and remembering the life, service, and legacy of fallen Baldwin Park Police Department Officer Samuel Riveros, one year after his passing in the city he proudly served and protected.
To honor his memory, Baldwin Park News is sharing a photograph captured on May 6, 2023, at a Starbucks located on the 14200 block of Ramona Boulevard during an “Adopt @ Starbucks” community event.
At the time, Baldwin Park News was present, documenting Officer Riveros alongside fellow Baldwin Park Police Department Officer Mark Bruman as they interacted with residents, sharing conversations, smiles, and meaningful moments with members of the community.
That moment, now preserved through the lens of Baldwin Park News, stands today as a photograph we are able to share with our community.
The Starbucks location was also a familiar stop for Officer Riveros, a place where he would often pause during his patrols for a cup of coffee.
Officer Mark Bruman, a close friend and colleague, later paid tribute to Riveros during a candlelight vigil held in 2025, honoring his life, service, and the impact he left on both the department and the community they served together.
One year later, Officer Riveros is remembered not only for his dedicated service and ultimate sacrifice, but also for the kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment he demonstrated to the city.
