Crews cleaned up Baldwin Park’s LGBTQ+ Pride Rainbow crosswalk after it was vandalized Friday, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
One-half of the LGBTQ+ Pride Rainbow Crosswalk was discovered painted white.
Baldwin Park’s LGBTQ+ Pride Rainbow Crosswalk marks the second year in a row, the City held one. The Pride Month crosswalk this year was placed at the intersection of Downing Avenue and Ramona Boulevard.
Last week the Department of Public Works of Baldwin Park painted the crosswalk at the intersection to commemorate Pride Month.
During the Baldwin Park Council Meeting on June 7, 2023, the City of Baldwin Park declared the month of June to be Pride Awareness Month.
Last June, the City conducted its First-Ever Rainbow Crosswalk in honor of Pride Month. Directly in front of the Baldwin Park City Hall.
Detectives from the Baldwin Park Police Department will investigate the incident further, the Department told Baldwin Park News.
