Guillermo Martinez Sanchez, a Baldwin Park Street vendor, was selling at a Baldwin Park Shopping center on Baldwin Park Blvd and Francisquito Avenue earlier this year when he was randomly robbed out of nowhere.
The street vendor, who is from East Los Angeles, described how it all occurred that February night.
Sanchez had been selling for almost two years and told Baldwin Park News nothing like that had happened to him.
He told Baldwin Park News, he was selling in the parking lot when two men approached him from the sidewalk and asked him how much he sold the items for.
At that moment, he told them two dollars, and they asked if he had changed for a $50 bill, which he said yes to, believing they would buy him something.
He told them what they wanted to buy, and the two men said they only wanted change back. He was about to hand them the $50 bill when the two men wanted to take it from his hands.
One of the males began to grab the money from his hands as he had it in his hands, and his friend hit Sanchez in his ear and tried to grab money from his cart.
Throwing the box of money he had onto the floor and grabbed the remaining money.
Sanchez told Baldwin Park News, they were already waiting for the men at the curb.
Sanchez also told Baldwin Park News that February night he lost about $50 to $60 dollars affecting his stand.
Adding that he didn’t want trouble and if the males were to be found, he wouldn’t want to press any charges.
