Baldwin Park High School’s Braves dominated the Sierra Vista High School Dons Thursday night, shutting out their crosstown rivals in the 2026 Crosstown Showdown.
Baldwin Park’s annual rivalry game brought together students, families, alumni, school staff, community members and elected officials from across the city for a night of football, school spirit and competition, as both teams battled for the coveted Community Bell.
Its 2026 Crosstown Showdown kicked off at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Baldwin Park High School’s Ted K. Gorrell Stadium, located in the 3900 block of Puente Avenue.
Sierra Vista High School supporters arrived dressed in the Dons’ red and black, while Baldwin Park High School supporters represented the Braves in blue and white, filling the stadium with school spirit as the two crosstown rivals faced off.
Baldwin Park News joined the community inside Ted K. Gorrell Stadium, where supporters from both schools filled the stands for one of the Baldwin Park Unified School District’s most anticipated event of the year.
Its atmosphere remained energetic throughout the evening as students and fans cheered from the stands, proudly supporting their respective schools throughout the heated rivalry matchup.
Cheerleaders and band members from both schools performed throughout the evening, keeping the crowd energized and engaged before the game, during halftime and throughout the rivalry matchup.
On the field, Baldwin Park High School’s offense delivered a strong performance from the opening kickoff, while the Braves’ defense remained dominant throughout the game, holding the Dons scoreless from start to finish.
Baldwin Park’s scoring effort was led by several standout players, including Jack Jack and Jacory Coleman, who made impressive plays throughout the game, along with Jordan Minor and Donovan St. Cyr, who each contributed multiple touchdowns.
Braves continued to control the game as the night progressed, ultimately securing a decisive victory over their crosstown rivals, Sierra Vista High School.
By the final whistle, Baldwin Park High School had secured a 42-0 shutout victory over Sierra Vista High School in the 2026 Crosstown Showdown.
Braves’ victory will keep the Community Bell at Baldwin Park High School for another year, marking the latest chapter in the longstanding crosstown rivalry.
