Suspect linked to a shooting in Baldwin Park earlier this month was taken into custody after initially fleeing the scene.
On April 15, 2026, officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the 4800 block of Fortin Street in the City of Baldwin Park.
By the time Baldwin Park Police Department officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the area.
Baldwin Park Police Department Detectives quickly worked to identify the individual believed to be responsible and launched a targeted surveillance operation to track their movements.
Less than 24 hours later, on April 16, 2025, the Baldwin Park Police Department located and arrested the suspect with assistance from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Community Violence Reduction Team.
During the course of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant that led to the discovery of a significant cache of weapons.
Recovered items included an AR-15-style rifle, a Glock handgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and multiple large-capacity magazines, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Its investigation remains ongoing.
