Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified one of the three victims killed in a deadly early-morning shooting that occurred Friday in Baldwin Park.
On Saturday, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified a female victim as 56-year-old Bich Lu.
According to the medical examiner, Lu was pronounced dead at the scene in front of a residence where the shooting occurred.
An investigation conducted by Medical Examiner Investigator Edna Morales determined her manner was homicide, caused by a gunshot wound to the head.
No other significant contributing conditions were reported, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
As of Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Its shooting occurred at approximately 5:07 a.m. Friday near Millbury Avenue and Merced Avenue in the City of Baldwin Park.
Officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department and personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of gunshots and multiple victims.
As officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department arrived, they found three adults, two men and one woman, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived and assumed care.
Lu and one adult male victim were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A second male victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives told Baldwin Park News late Friday afternoon that no potential motive had been ruled out as the investigation remained ongoing.
While speculation of a possible murder-suicide circulated, homicide detectives told Baldwin Park News late Friday no official determination had been made.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau confirmed that Lu and one of the male victims, believed to be in his 80s, were husband and wife.
That individual was initially transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Second male victim, believed to be in his 60s to 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives were continuing to work to confirm his identity and any connection to the other victims.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, homicide detectives told Baldwin Park News.
Its investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details are available at this time.
