Driver fled the scene after overturning a vehicle and crashing into a tree early Monday morning in Baldwin Park.
At approximately 12:07 a.m., the Baldwin Park Police Department’s Dispatch Communications Center received reports of a single-vehicle traffic collision.
Baldwin Park Police Department officers responded to the crash near the intersection of Ramona Boulevard and Merced Avenue in the City of Baldwin Park.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an overturned vehicle resting on its side near a damaged tree, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
Police told Baldwin Park News that a bystander at the scene reported seeing a male driver exit the vehicle and flee shortly after the crash occurred.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted; however, officers were unable to locate the driver, police said.
Evidence found at the scene suggested the driver suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash, the department told Baldwin Park News.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved, and no additional injuries were reported at the scene.
It’s incident was investigated as a hit-and-run, and the investigation remained ongoing, according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.
