Multi-vehicle collision involving two semi-trucks caused major disruptions on the Northbound 605 Freeway just south of the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:13 p.m., the California Highway Patrol’s East Los Angeles Area office and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a traffic collision just south of the 10 Freeway.
Upon arrival, first responders found two semi-trucks and several passenger vehicles involved in the collision.
One semi-truck went over the freeway embankment, while the second also left the freeway onto the embankment, striking a tree.
According to the California Highway Patrol log, one semi-truck collided with vehicles that were stopped at the time of the incident.
Its crash involved a total of roughly six vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol log.
Despite the severity of the crash and the number of vehicles involved, no drivers sustained life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the collision, a Sigalert closed lanes three and four of the northbound 605 Freeway just south of the 10 Freeway, causing significant delays during the afternoon commute.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., all lanes of the Northbound 605 Freeway just South of the 10 Freeway were opened.
Its cause of the crash remains under investigation.
