Baldwin Park is set to commemorate Black History Month with its Second Annual Black History Celebration on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Inviting residents and visitors to join in the festivities at the Arts & Recreation Center.
Last year’s inaugural event, hosted at the Esther Snyder Community Center, marked a significant milestone.
“The City of Baldwin Park is incredibly proud of its diverse community, and we lean on it as a source of great strength. This event is an opportunity for members of our community to connect with one another and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Black Americans in the history of our city and our nation,” said Baldwin Park Mayor Emmanuel J. Estrada.
Come rain or shine, the celebration kicks off at 11:00 a.m., promising a day filled with cultural immersion and family-friendly activities.
Throughout February, the Arts & Recreation Center will also feature a special art exhibit showcasing works by Black artists and pieces that reflect Black history and culture.
Residents are encouraged to visit the exhibit with their families and friends.
The Black History Month Celebration offers something for everyone, from delicious food to work offerings from local artisans and merchants, all accompanied by the beats of a live DJ.
“I look forward to celebrating Black History Month with the entire Baldwin Park community,” continued Mayor Estrada. “Black history is our history. We appreciate this opportunity to learn about our history and celebrate the diverse cultures that make us who we are.”

Baldwin Park está listo para conmemorar el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana con su segunda Celebración Anual de la Historia Afroamericana el sábado 17 de febrero de 2024.
Invitando a residentes y visitantes a unirse a las festividades en el Centro de Arte y Recreación.
El evento inaugural del año pasado, organizado en el Centro Comunitario Esther Snyder, marcó un hito significativo.
“La ciudad de Baldwin Park está increíblemente orgullosa de su comunidad diversa, y nos apoyamos en ella como una fuente de gran fortaleza. Este evento es una oportunidad para que los miembros de nuestra comunidad se conecten entre sí y celebren las contribuciones y logros de los afroamericanos en la historia de nuestra ciudad y nuestra nación”, dijo el alcalde de Baldwin Park, Emmanuel J. Estrada.
Llueva o truene, la celebración comienza a las 11:00 a.m., prometiendo un día lleno de inmersión cultural y actividades familiares.
A lo largo de febrero, el Centro de Arte y Recreación también contará con una exhibición especial de arte que exhibirá obras de artistas negros y piezas que reflejan la historia y la cultura negras.
Se alienta a los residentes a visitar la exhibición con sus familiares y amigos.
La Celebración del Mes de la Historia Afroamericana ofrece algo para todos, desde deliciosa comida hasta ofrendas de trabajo de artesanos y comerciantes locales, todo acompañado por los ritmos de un DJ en vivo.
“Espero celebrar el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana con toda la comunidad de Baldwin Park”, continuó el alcalde Estrada. “La historia negra es nuestra historia. Apreciamos esta oportunidad de aprender sobre nuestra historia y celebrar las diversas culturas que nos hacen quienes somos.”
